(Alizheimer's disease) He Has Forgotten My Name

Alzheimer's journey

He Has Forgotten My Name

He has forgotten my name and calls me his keeper.
This man who flew 747s
Has forgotten to walk or even stand.
He looks at the spoon as if it is a foreign object,
Then he smiles and I feed him.
He asks,"Are you married?"
Why do you ask I replied?
"Because I would marry you in a heartbeat," he says.
We have been married 20 years.
He has forgotten my name
But it is forever written in his heart.
