(Family) Just Enough

I like the poetry of Lois Wyse who died in 2008. This poem sounds like something she would write and I think she was channeling me when I wrote this.

Just Enough

Our anniversary would have been today.
Forty three years if we had stayed together.
I woke up this morning wondering why I wasn't enough.
Not enough for you to love me only.
Not enough for me to try again.

Over a cup of tea I decided.
I was enough
But you were too needy
And I had had just enough
Of our marriage.

If you like my poetry, you can buy me a cup of coffee
